What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Riga Airport or border crossing
You'll go through Schengen border control. Have your passport, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation ready. The officer may ask about your trip purpose and length of stay. Answer clearly and briefly.
2
Present documents at passport control
Hand over your passport. The officer will scan it and may ask a few questions. If asked, show your return ticket and hotel booking. The process usually takes 1–2 minutes.
3
Receive entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the entry date. This stamp marks the start of your 90-day visa-free period. Keep the stamp visible — you'll need it when leaving.
4
Exit Schengen area
When leaving Latvia (or any Schengen country), go through passport control again. Your exit stamp will be recorded. Make sure you haven't overstayed the 90-day limit.
