Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Kyrgyzstan. No 6-month validity rule applies here — just cover your dates. Airlines at Tashkent (TAS) may ask to see it before boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Kyrgyzstan
Immigration at Manas International Airport (FRU) asks for a return or onward ticket on arrival. Have a printed or digital copy ready — they check this before stamping you in. A bus ticket to Almaty or a flight out works fine.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or an invitation letter from your host. Border officers rarely ask for it, but having it avoids delays if they do. A simple Booking.com printout is enough.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have a bank statement or a credit card showing available funds. Officers almost never request it for short stays, but it's one of those things they can ask for. A screenshot of your banking app works.Recommended
Keep your entry stamp safe
The entry stamp is your proof of legal stay. Don't lose it — you'll need it when leaving to show you didn't overstay.
Overstaying is costly
If you stay beyond 60 days, you'll face fines and possible deportation. The fine is around 5,000 KGS (about $60 USD) per day of overstay.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at the airport or land border
You'll enter at Manas International Airport (Bishkek), Osh Airport, or a land border from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, or China. At the airport, follow signs to 'Passport Control'.
2
Present your passport and ticket
Hand over your passport and return/onward ticket if asked. The officer checks passport validity and stamps you in. This takes 1-2 minutes.
3
Collect your luggage and exit
After passport control, pick up your bags from the carousel and walk through customs. Personal items usually need no declaration.
