Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid for at least the length of your stay in Mongolia. Airlines at Tashkent (TAS) may ask for 6 months validity — carry a printout of Mongolia's official policy if they push back.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Mongolia
Immigration officers at Chinggis Khaan International Airport (UBN) routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed itinerary or digital copy ready on your phone.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Border guards sometimes ask where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a pre-booked hotel. A simple booking confirmation or a letter from a host works fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Officers rarely ask, but carry a bank statement or a credit card showing at least $50 USD per day of your stay. Cash in USD or MNT helps if questioned.Recommended
Passport validity is critical
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you enter Mongolia. Count from your arrival date, not your departure. If it's close to expiry, renew before you go.
No visa needed for 30 days
Uzbek citizens can enter Mongolia visa-free for up to 30 days. No application, no fee — just show your passport at immigration.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents before departure
Check your passport validity (6+ months from entry). Print or save digital copies of your return ticket, first night accommodation booking, and travel insurance. Download a local eSIM or SIM card for connectivity.
2
Arrive at any Mongolian international airport or land border
The main entry point is Chinggis Khaan International Airport (Ulaanbaatar). You can also enter via land borders from Russia or China. Present your passport to the immigration officer.
3
Receive your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with a visa-free entry valid for up to 30 days. No visa application or fee is required. Keep the stamp visible — you'll need it when you leave.
4
Exit before 30 days
Count your days from the entry stamp. Overstaying can result in fines of 10,000–20,000 MNT per day or future entry bans. If you need more time, apply for an extension at the Immigration Agency in Ulaanbaatar before your 30 days expire.
