Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
You need an eVisa to enter Uganda. Apply at the official Uganda eVisa portal — visas.immigration.go.ug. Processing takes 2–3 business days, and you'll receive the approval by email. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for entire stay
Your Uzbekistan passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in Uganda. No minimum validity beyond departure is required by Ugandan law, but airlines may enforce 6 months — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Immigration officers at Entebbe Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your outbound flight booking ready. Without it, you may be denied boarding or entry.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host letter
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter from your host in Uganda. Officers sometimes ask for this at the border, especially if you're arriving without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support your stay
Have bank statements or a credit card ready to show you have enough money for your trip. Uganda does not publish a fixed minimum, but $50–$100 per day is a safe benchmark.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine required
Uganda requires proof of yellow fever vaccination for all travellers arriving from countries with risk of yellow fever, including Uzbekistan. Get the vaccine at least 10 days before travel and carry your yellow card.
eVisa is straightforward
The Uganda eVisa process is one of the simpler ones in East Africa. Most applications are approved within a few days. Just make sure your passport is valid for 6+ months and you have a return ticket.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for eVisa online
Go to visas.immigration.go.ug and fill out the application. Upload a scanned copy of your passport bio page, a passport-sized photo (digital), and your travel details. Pay the fee (around $50 USD for a single-entry tourist visa) by credit card. Processing usually takes 2-5 business days.
2
Receive eVisa approval
You'll get an email with your eVisa approval letter. Print it out and keep a digital copy on your phone. The visa is usually valid for 90 days from issue, allowing a single entry and a stay of up to 90 days.
3
Arrival at Entebbe Airport
At Entebbe International Airport (the main entry point), go to the immigration counter. Present your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. The officer will stamp your passport and you're in. The process is usually quick — 10-15 minutes if you have everything ready.
4
Land border entry (if applicable)
If entering by land (e.g., from Kenya or Rwanda), the same eVisa works. At the border post, show your passport and eVisa. Some land borders may have slower processing — allow extra time.
