Vietnamese passport holders need a visa to enter Belarus in 2026. You must apply for a visa before traveling — there is no visa-on-arrival or visa-free option for tourism or business.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Visa application
Apply for a visa before travel
You need a visa to enter Belarus. Apply at the Belarusian embassy or consulate in your country of residence — processing takes 5–15 working days depending on the visa type. Check the Belarus Ministry of Foreign Affairs website for the application form and required documents.Apply for visaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for the entire stay
Your Vietnamese passport must be valid for at least the duration of your stay in Belarus. No specific 6-month validity rule applies, but airlines may enforce their own policies — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Belarus
Immigration officers at Minsk National Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your outbound flight booking ready to show at passport control.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Border officials may ask where you're staying. Carry a printed hotel confirmation or a notarized invitation letter from your Belarusian host. This is not always checked, but having it avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can cover your stay
You may be asked to prove you have enough money for your trip. Carry cash (at least €50 per day) or a bank statement showing available funds. Belarusian immigration rarely enforces this strictly, but it's safer to have it.Recommended
Visa required — no exceptions
Vietnamese passport holders cannot enter Belarus without a pre-approved visa. There is no visa-free regime, no visa-on-arrival, and no e-Visa for land borders. Apply well in advance.
Register if staying more than 5 days
If you stay longer than 5 days, you must register with the local migration office. Hotels usually do this for you, but if you're in a private apartment, you must do it yourself. Keep the registration slip — you'll need it when leaving.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for a visa online
Go to the official Belarus e-Visa portal (e-visa.by) and fill out the application. You'll need your passport details, travel dates, and accommodation info. Pay the fee online. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days.
2
Receive your e-Visa
Once approved, you'll get a PDF by email. Print a copy and save it on your phone. You'll need to show it at immigration in Minsk National Airport (MSQ) or at any land border crossing.
3
Prepare your documents for arrival
Before you land, have your passport, printed e-Visa, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation ready. Keep them in your hand luggage — not checked bags.
4
Go through immigration at Minsk Airport
At Minsk National Airport, follow signs to 'Passport Control' for foreign nationals. Hand over your passport and e-Visa. The officer may ask a few questions (purpose of visit, where you're staying). Answer clearly. You'll get a stamp and be on your way.

Frequently asked questions

No. There is no visa-on-arrival for Vietnamese passport holders. You must get a visa before you travel — either an e-Visa or a visa from a Belarusian embassy.
Typically 3–5 business days. Apply at least a week before your trip to be safe. The cost is around 60–80 EUR depending on the type and processing speed.
If you're staying airside and not passing through passport control, you generally don't need a visa. But if you need to leave the transit zone or stay overnight, you'll need a transit visa. Check with your airline or the embassy.
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your entry date. If it's shorter, renew your passport before applying for the visa. Immigration may deny entry otherwise.
Extensions are not available for e-Visa holders. If you need to stay longer, you must apply for a different type of visa before traveling. Overstaying can result in fines or deportation.
If you stay more than 5 days, your hotel or host must register you with the migration authorities. If you're in a private apartment, you need to do it yourself at the local office. Keep the registration slip — you'll need it when leaving.
Report the loss immediately to the local police and your embassy (Vietnam Embassy in Moscow or the Honorary Consulate in Minsk). You'll need a police report and a temporary travel document to leave. This can take several days.
