Immigration officers at Baghdad and Erbil airports routinely ask for a confirmed return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or a digital booking ready to show.Required

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to evisa.iq, fill in your details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $50-80 depending on nationality). Processing takes 3-7 business days.
2
Receive and save your eVisa
You'll get a PDF by email. Save it on your phone and print a paper copy. The visa is linked to your passport number — no need to carry the original document.
3
Arrive at an Iraqi airport
Most travellers fly into Baghdad International Airport (BGW) or Erbil International Airport (EBL). At immigration, present your passport and printed eVisa. They'll stamp you in.
4
Show supporting documents if asked
