Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry into Oman. Have at least one blank page for the entry stamp.Required

Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel reservation or a letter from your host in Oman. Officers may ask for it at the counter.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have bank statements or a credit card showing you can cover your stay. No fixed amount is published, but around 500 OMR (approx. $1,300 USD) per week is a safe benchmark.Recommended
Passport validity is strict
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date you enter Oman. If it's even a day short, you'll be denied boarding. Check your passport now, not the night before your flight.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your eVisa, flight bookings, and hotel confirmations as PDFs on your phone. Also email them to yourself. If you lose your printed copies, you'll still have access.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Oman eVisa website (evisa.rop.gov.om). Fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo, and pay the fee. Processing usually takes 1-3 business days. You'll receive the approved eVisa by email.
2
Print or save your eVisa
Once approved, print a paper copy and also save a PDF on your phone. Airlines will check this before you board. Keep it with your passport.
3
Arrive at Muscat International Airport
At immigration, present your passport and the printed eVisa. The officer will stamp you in. The process is usually quick — 5-10 minutes if the queue is short.
4
Show your return ticket and accommodation if asked
Immigration officers may ask for proof of onward travel and where you're staying. Have your booking confirmations ready on your phone. Most of the time they just stamp and wave you through.
