Carry bank statements or a credit card showing access to at least 500 DKK per day of your stay. Immigration may ask how you plan to cover expenses. A printed statement from the last 3 months works best.Recommended

The Schengen visa fee is €80 (about R1,600) for adults. Children aged 6-12 pay €40 (about R800). Children under 6 are free. There's also a service fee of around R300-R500 paid to VFS Global. Fees are non-refundable if your visa is refused.

You need a flight reservation showing your entry and exit dates, but you don't have to buy the ticket. A travel agent or airline can hold a reservation for you without payment. Only buy the ticket after the visa is approved.
You'll receive a letter explaining the reason. You can appeal within 30 days to the Danish Immigration Service. The appeal costs about R1,000. Alternatively, you can reapply with stronger documents. Common reasons for refusal: insufficient funds, unclear travel plans, or weak ties to South Africa.
Yes. A Danish Schengen visa allows you to travel to all 27 Schengen countries (e.g., France, Germany, Italy, Spain) for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. Just make sure Denmark is your main destination or first point of entry.
