Zambian passport holders need a visa to enter Belarus in 2026. You must apply online before you travel — there is no visa-on-arrival option. Plan ahead: the e-Visa process takes a few days, and you'll need to show the approved visa at the border.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Belarus eVisa application
Apply online before travel
Apply for a Belarus eVisa at e-visa.by/en at least 5 business days before departure. The eVisa allows single entry for up to 30 days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport — border officers will scan the barcode.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for entire stay
Your Zambian passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in Belarus. No minimum validity beyond departure is required by Belarusian law, but airlines may enforce 6 months — check with your carrier.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Belarus
Immigration officers at Minsk National Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your outbound booking ready — they check this before stamping you in.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a confirmed hotel reservation or a notarized invitation from a Belarusian host. Officers may ask for the address and contact details of where you are staying — have it written down or on your phone.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient cash or card
Have at least €50 per day of stay available in cash or on a card. Belarusian border guards rarely ask, but if they do, you need to show you can cover your expenses without working.Recommended
Visa required — no exceptions
Zambian passport holders cannot enter Belarus without an approved e-Visa. There is no visa-on-arrival, no visa waiver, and no alternative at the border. Apply online at least a week before your trip.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for 6 months from the day you arrive in Belarus, not from your departure date. If your passport expires sooner, renew it before applying for the visa.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the e-Visa
Go to e-visa.by/en/ and fill in the online form. You'll need your passport details, travel dates, and accommodation info. Pay the fee (around €60–80 depending on processing speed). Wait 3–5 business days for approval. You'll receive the visa as a PDF — print it or save it on your phone.
2
Pack your documents
Before you leave, gather: your passport (valid 6+ months), the printed e-Visa, return ticket, hotel booking, and travel insurance. Keep them in a folder you can grab quickly.
3
Arrive at Minsk National Airport (MSQ)
When you land, follow signs to 'Passport Control'. Join the queue for foreign passports. Have your passport, e-Visa, and return ticket ready. The officer will check your visa, stamp your passport, and ask a couple of questions (purpose of visit, where you're staying). Answer clearly. The whole process takes 5–10 minutes if you're prepared.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After passport control, head to baggage claim. Then walk through customs — there's usually nothing to declare unless you're carrying large amounts of cash or restricted goods. Exit into the arrivals hall.

Frequently asked questions

No. There is no visa-on-arrival for Zambian passport holders. You must apply for an e-Visa online at e-visa.by/en/ before you travel. Processing takes 3–5 business days, so apply at least a week before your flight.
The standard single-entry e-Visa costs around €60–80. The exact fee depends on processing speed (standard vs. express). Payment is online by credit card. There are no additional fees at the border.
The e-Visa allows a single entry and a maximum stay of 30 days. You cannot extend it while in Belarus. If you need to stay longer, you must leave and re-apply for a new visa.
If you're transiting through Minsk Airport and staying airside (not passing through passport control), you do not need a visa. But if you plan to leave the airport or take a connecting flight that requires you to clear immigration, you need a visa. Check with your airline before booking.
Rejections are rare but can happen if your documents are incomplete or if there are errors in your application. You will not get a refund of the visa fee. You can re-apply with corrected information. If you're unsure, contact the Belarusian embassy in your region before applying.
If you stay in a hotel, the hotel registers you automatically. If you're staying in a private apartment or with friends, your host must register you with the local migration office within 5 days. Failure to register can result in a fine when you leave.
Always carry your passport and a copy of your visa. Police can ask for identification at any time. Keep the originals in your hotel safe and carry photocopies or digital scans on your phone.
