Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Fiji. Immigration officers at Nadi Airport check this carefully. Airlines also verify this before boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Fiji
Immigration at Nadi Airport will ask to see a confirmed onward ticket leaving Fiji within 120 days. Budget airlines like Fiji Link and Jetstar check this before issuing a boarding pass. Have a printed or digital copy ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Immigration officers sometimes ask for a hotel reservation or a letter from your host in Fiji. A printed booking confirmation from Booking.com or Agoda works fine. Have a copy ready in case they ask.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Officers may ask for bank statements or cash to confirm you can cover your stay. Having at least FJD 500 (around $220 USD) per week of your trip is a safe benchmark. A credit card statement also works.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date you enter Fiji. Airlines check this before you board — if it's close, renew first.
No visa needed, but have proof of onward travel
Immigration officers almost always ask for a return or onward ticket. A screenshot on your phone is fine — just don't forget it.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents before departure
Check your passport validity (6+ months), print or save your return ticket and first night's accommodation confirmation. Get travel insurance and a local SIM if you want.
2
Arrive at Nadi International Airport (or Suva)
Most flights land at Nadi. Follow signs to Immigration. Queue up, hand over your passport and boarding pass. The officer may ask for your return ticket and accommodation — have them ready on your phone.
3
Receive your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with a visitor permit valid for up to 120 days. No fee. Keep the stamp visible — you'll need it when leaving.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, grab your bags from the carousel, then walk through Customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel.
