Your Zambian passport must be valid for at least the duration of your stay in Kyrgyzstan. No minimum validity beyond departure is required by Kyrgyz law, but airlines may enforce 6 months — check with your carrier.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Immigration at Manas International Airport routinely asks for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready showing you leave Kyrgyzstan within your eVisa validity.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Border officers may ask where you are staying. Carry a printed hotel confirmation or a letter from your host in Kyrgyzstan. Booking.com or Airbnb confirmations work fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Kyrgyzstan does not have a fixed minimum amount, but have at least $50 USD per day available in cash or on a card. ATMs are limited outside Bishkek, so bring some US dollars or euros in cash.Recommended
eVisa is the only option for Zambians
There is no visa-free entry or visa-on-arrival for Zambian passport holders. You must get the eVisa before you travel. No exceptions.
Passport validity is strict
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you enter Kyrgyzstan. If it's close to expiring, renew it first. You will be turned away at the border otherwise.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Kyrgyz eVisa website (evisa.e-gov.kg). Fill in your personal details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee with a credit or debit card. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days, but can be faster.
2
Receive and save your eVisa
You'll get an email with your eVisa PDF. Download it, print a copy, and also save it on your phone. You'll need to show it at the border.
3
Prepare your documents for travel
Gather your passport (valid 6+ months), return ticket, accommodation booking, and travel insurance. Keep digital copies on your phone and paper backups in your bag.
4
Arrive at Manas International Airport (Bishkek)
At immigration, present your passport, eVisa, and return ticket. The officer may ask about your accommodation. Answer clearly. The process is usually quick — 5–10 minutes if your documents are ready.
5
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, head to baggage claim, then customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel. You're free to enter Kyrgyzstan.
