Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
Apply for your Cameroon eVisa at the official portal. Processing takes 3–5 business days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport to present at immigration.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay
Your passport must be valid for at least the duration of your stay in Cameroon. Airlines at Harare and Johannesburg check this before boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers at Yaoundé Nsimalen and Douala International routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot ready on your phone.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel reservation confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host in Cameroon. Officers occasionally ask for it, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have a recent bank statement or a credit card ready. Immigration may ask to see you have enough cash or card limit for your stay — around 100,000 XAF per day is a safe benchmark.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine is mandatory
You must show your yellow card at immigration. No card = possible denial of entry or a fine. Get the shot at least 10 days before you fly.
eVisa is not visa on arrival
You cannot get a visa at the airport. Apply and pay online before you travel. Print the approval — digital copies on your phone may not be accepted.
