Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Zimbabwe passport holders need an eVisa to enter Oman. Apply through the Royal Oman Police eVisa portal at least a few days before departure. The application asks for passport details, travel dates, and a digital photo — approval usually takes 1-3 business days.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Oman. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers in Oman routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot of your booking ready. A ticket to any destination outside Oman works — it does not have to be back to Zimbabwe.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have a hotel reservation or a letter from your host in Oman ready. Immigration may ask for it, especially if you are arriving without a pre-arranged tour or business invitation.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Carry a bank statement or credit card showing you have enough money for your stay. There is no fixed minimum amount, but having at least $500 USD equivalent is a safe bet.Recommended
Apply early — no visa on arrival
Zimbabwean passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival in Oman. You must have an approved eVisa before you board your flight. Apply at least a week in advance.
Keep digital copies handy
Save your eVisa PDF, return ticket, and hotel booking to your phone. Immigration at Muscat and Salalah airports may ask to see all three.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the Royal Oman Police eVisa website (evisa.rop.gov.om). Fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-sized photo, and pay the fee. Processing usually takes 3–5 working days.
2
Receive your eVisa approval
You'll get an email with your eVisa PDF. Print it or save it on your phone — you'll need to show it at immigration.
3
Arrive at Muscat or Salalah airport
Join the 'Visitors' queue at immigration. Hand over your passport and eVisa printout (or phone screen). The officer may ask for your return ticket and hotel booking — have them ready.
4
Get your passport stamped
Once approved, the officer stamps your passport with an entry date. You're free to enter Oman. Keep the eVisa copy with you during your stay.
