Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Qatar eVisa through the Hukoomi portal before you fly. Processing usually takes a few business days — do not book non-refundable flights until approved. The eVisa is linked electronically to your passport number.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for the entire stay
Your Zimbabwe passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry into Qatar. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Qatar
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot ready on your phone. Without one, you risk being refused entry and sent back on the next flight.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have a hotel confirmation or a letter from your Qatari host ready. Immigration may ask where you are staying — a printed booking confirmation avoids delays at the counter.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Carry evidence of sufficient funds — a bank statement or credit card showing at least 2,000 QAR (around $550 USD) per week of your stay. Officers rarely ask, but having it ready prevents problems.Recommended
eVisa processing time
Apply at least 7 days before your trip. Processing can take 3–5 business days, and delays happen. Don't book non-refundable flights until you have the visa.
Passport validity is strict
Your passport must be valid for 6 months from the day you enter Qatar. If it expires sooner, you'll be refused boarding. Check your passport now.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the Hukoomi eVisa portal (hukoomi.gov.qa/en/service/get-visa/). Fill in your details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee online. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get a PDF by email. Print a copy and save it on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and on arrival in Qatar.
3
Arrive at Hamad International Airport (DOH)
Follow signs to 'Arrivals' and join the queue for non-GCC passport holders. Have your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket ready. The officer will stamp you in — usually takes 2–5 minutes.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After passport control, collect your bags from the carousel and walk through the green 'Nothing to Declare' channel if you have no goods to declare. You're in.
