Your passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Rwanda. Airlines check this at check-in. No minimum validity beyond your departure date is required by Rwandan immigration.Required

Proof of departure from Rwanda
Immigration officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket at Kigali International Airport. Have a printed or digital copy ready. This applies even for visa-free entries.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host. Immigration may ask for it, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended

Have at least $100 USD equivalent per day of your stay available in cash or on a card. Immigration can ask to see proof of funds at the border.Recommended
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in Rwanda, not from when you leave. If it expires sooner, renew it before you travel.
No visa, no fee, no fuss
Zimbabwe passport holders get 30 days visa-free. No application, no payment, no waiting. Just walk up to immigration with your passport and a return ticket.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Kigali International Airport or land border
Most travellers fly into Kigali International Airport (KGL). Land borders like Gatuna (from Uganda) or Rusumo (from Tanzania) also accept visa-free entry. Have your passport and return ticket ready.
2
Queue at immigration
Join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Hand over your passport and any requested documents. The officer will check your passport validity and stamp you in. No visa fee, no forms to fill.
3
Collect your luggage and exit
After the stamp, head to baggage claim (if you checked bags), then walk through customs. Green channel if nothing to declare. You're in.
