Japan entry requirements for United Arab Emirates passport holders
Emirati passport holders can visit Japan for tourism or business without a visa for up to 30 days. This visa-free arrangement is in place for 2026 and covers most short-term visits. Just make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your entry date.
Entry requirements
| Requirement | Details | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Valid passport Must cover your entire stay in Japan | Japan does not require 6 months of passport validity beyond your departure date — your passport just needs to be valid for the whole stay. Airlines sometimes enforce the 6-month rule anyway, so check with your carrier before flying. | Required |
| Return or onward ticket Proof of departure from Japan | Immigration officers at Narita, Haneda, and Kansai ask for a return or onward ticket on arrival. Enforcement varies by officer — some wave you through, others check every passenger. Have a printed or digital copy ready to avoid delays. | Recommended |
| Proof of accommodation Hotel booking or host invitation | Immigration rarely asks for hotel bookings, but budget airlines and some check-in counters request them. Keep a printed confirmation or a screenshot on your phone. | Recommended |
| Proof of funds Show you can support yourself | Officers rarely ask for bank statements, but if they do, show at least ¥100,000 (roughly $700 USD) or a credit card with a visible limit. Carry a mix of cash and card — Japan is still cash-heavy in smaller towns. | Recommended |
