UAE passport holders need an eVisa to enter Taiwan in 2026. The online application is straightforward, and once approved, you can stay for up to 30 days. Just make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
You need an approved eVisa before boarding. Apply at the Taiwan eVisa Portal (visawebapp.boca.gov.tw). Processing usually takes 2–5 business days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for entire stay
Your UAE passport must be valid for at least the full duration of your stay in Taiwan. Taiwan does not enforce the 6-month rule, but your airline might — check with them before departure.Required
Return or onward ticket
Show proof of departure
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready. Without one, you may be denied boarding or entry.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have your hotel reservation or host's address handy. Officers sometimes ask where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Carry a bank statement or credit card showing sufficient funds for your stay. Taiwan rarely checks this, but having it ready avoids delays.Recommended
eVisa is for tourism only
This eVisa is for short-term tourism, business visits, or transit. If you plan to work, study, or stay longer than 30 days, you need a different visa — apply at a Taiwan embassy before you travel.
Keep your eVisa accessible
Immigration officers may ask to see your eVisa at the counter. Have it printed or saved on your phone. A screenshot works, but a printed copy is more reliable if your phone dies.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to visawebapp.boca.gov.tw, fill in your details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around 1,600 TWD) and submit. Processing usually takes 2-3 business days.
2
Receive and save your eVisa
You'll get an email with the eVisa PDF. Print a copy and save it on your phone. Keep it accessible during your flight and at immigration.
3
Arrive at Taiwan airport
At Taoyuan (TPE) or Kaohsiung (KHH), follow signs to 'Foreigners' immigration. Have your passport, eVisa (printed or on phone), and return ticket ready. The officer will scan your passport and stamp you in.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, grab your bags from the carousel, then walk through customs (usually green channel if nothing to declare). You're in Taiwan.
