All foreign nationals, including Argentine citizens, require an ETA even for transit through Sri Lanka. The Transit ETA allows a stay of up to 2 days.
- Diplomatic or official passport holders may be exempt.
- Passengers with confirmed onward tickets and staying airside may be allowed without ETA only if they do not pass immigration, but this is at the discretion of the airline and immigration authorities. However, the official requirement is to have a Transit ETA.
