Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Argentine passport needs to be valid for the entire time you're in Uzbekistan. No minimum validity period beyond your stay is required by Uzbek law, but airlines may ask for 6 months — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Uzbekistan
Immigration officers at Tashkent International Airport routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot ready — they rarely check digital versions on your phone.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or a letter from your host. Border officers occasionally ask where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a pre-booked itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Have access to at least $100 USD per day of your stay, either in cash, a credit card, or a bank statement. Officers rarely check this for Argentine passport holders, but it's safer to have evidence ready.Recommended
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in Uzbekistan, not from when you leave. If your passport expires sooner, renew it before you go.
No visa extensions available
The 30-day visa-free stay cannot be extended. If you need more time, apply for a visa before traveling. Overstaying can lead to fines and complications.

What happens at the border

1
Arrival at airport
At Tashkent International Airport or any land border, head to the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Have your passport and return ticket ready. The officer will check your passport validity, stamp you in, and you're good for up to 30 days.
2
Immigration check
The officer will ask your purpose of visit and how long you're staying. Answer clearly. They may ask to see your return ticket or hotel booking. Keep your phone unlocked with those documents ready.
3
Collect luggage and exit
After clearing immigration, collect your bags from the carousel and proceed through customs. There's a green channel for standard items and a red channel for goods to declare. Most tourists use the green channel.
