Bangladeshi passport holders need an eVisa to travel to Iran. You must apply online before you fly — there's no visa-on-arrival option for Bangladeshi citizens. The eVisa is valid for tourism and business visits, and you'll need to show it at the airport when you check in and again on arrival.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Iran e-VisaYou need to get this visa online before you fly; it cannot be obtained on arrival.
Apply online before travel
You must obtain an e-Visa for Iran before arrival. The e-Visa is valid for entry as a tourist and is not extendable. Apply through the official Iranian e-Visa website, and ensure your passport has at least 6 months validity from the date of entry.Required
Passport validityYour passport must not expire soon after your trip; it needs to be valid for half a year from when you arrive.
Minimum 6 months from entry
Your Bangladesh passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended date of entry into Iran. Check the expiry date well before applying for the e-Visa.Required

At least 1 blank page

Return or onward ticketYou should have a ticket out of Iran to show you won't overstay.
Proof of departure
Have a confirmed return or onward flight ticket showing you will leave Iran before your e-Visa expires. Immigration may ask to see this at entry.Required
Proof of fundsIt's wise to carry some proof that you can support yourself while in Iran.

Arrival declarationYou don't need to fill out any extra arrival form.
Not required
No separate arrival declaration is required for Iran. The e-Visa and passport are sufficient for entry. Not required
Active conflict — commercial flights suspended
Iran is currently in an active military conflict with the US (escalated July 2026, strikes near Tehran and Semnan province). Tehran's Imam Khomeini International Airport has suspended all scheduled commercial flights, and aviation authorities (EASA) advise against operating in Iranian airspace at all. Do not plan travel to Iran right now — check your government's official travel advisory and live flight status before making any arrangements. The visa information on this page describes the standard peacetime policy and may not be practically usable at the moment.
Apply early — no visa on arrival
Bangladeshi citizens cannot get a visa on arrival in Iran. You must have an approved eVisa before you fly. Airlines may refuse boarding without it. Apply at least 2 weeks in advance to avoid last-minute stress.
Passport validity is strict
Your passport must be valid for 6 months from your arrival date. If it expires sooner, you'll be turned away at the airport in Iran. Check your passport now and renew if needed.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Iranian eVisa portal (evisa.mfa.ir), create an account, and fill out the application form. You'll need your passport details, travel dates, and accommodation info. Upload your photo and any required documents. Pay the fee (around $30–$50, depending on nationality) with a credit card.
2
Wait for approval
Processing usually takes 5–7 business days. You'll receive an email with your eVisa approval or a request for more info. Check your spam folder — the email sometimes lands there.
3
Print your eVisa
Once approved, print a copy of the eVisa. You'll need it at check-in and at immigration. Keep a digital copy on your phone as backup.
4
Arrive at the airport in Iran
At Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKA) in Tehran, go to the foreign passport queue. Present your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. The officer will check your details and stamp your passport. Have your accommodation address handy in case they ask.
