Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Myanmar eVisa at the official Ministry of Immigration portal. The eVisa is valid for tourism or business, single entry, with a stay of up to 28 days. Processing takes 3–5 working days — apply at least a week before your flight.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must have 6 months validity
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Myanmar. Airlines check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward ticket out of Myanmar. A flight booking or bus ticket showing departure within your eVisa's validity period works. Have a printed copy or screenshot ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a printed hotel reservation or an invitation letter from your host. Immigration may ask where you're staying — having a booking confirmation avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient cash or bank statement
Have at least $300 USD equivalent in cash or a bank statement showing available funds. Immigration rarely checks this, but it's a formal requirement for entry.Recommended
Apply early — no visa on arrival
Bangladeshi passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival in Myanmar. You must have an approved eVisa before you board your flight. Apply at least a week in advance.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your eVisa approval, hotel booking, and return ticket as PDFs on your phone. Also print paper copies. Immigration at Yangon and Mandalay airports may ask to see them.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for eVisa online
Go to evisa.moip.gov.mm. Fill in your details, upload a passport photo and your passport data page. Pay the fee (around $50 USD) by credit card. You'll get a confirmation email.

Wait for approval
Processing takes 3–5 working days. Check your email (including spam) for the approval letter. Print it — you'll need to show it at check-in and on arrival.
3

Before you leave, print or save: eVisa approval, hotel booking, return flight confirmation, and travel insurance. Keep them together in a folder or on your phone.
4
