Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Georgia does not require 6 months of passport validity beyond your stay — your passport just needs to be valid for the entire time you are in the country. Airlines may still enforce the 6-month rule, so check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Georgia
Immigration officers at Tbilisi and Kutaisi airports routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready showing you leave within the 360-day visa-free period.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Border officers rarely ask for it, but having a hotel confirmation or an invitation letter from a host covers you if they do. A simple booking printout or email works.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Georgia does not enforce a fixed minimum, but carrying around $50–$100 per day in cash or having a bank statement showing available funds avoids any questions. ATMs are widely available in Tbilisi and Batumi.Recommended
360 days — not a typo
Georgia offers Bulgarian passport holders a remarkably long visa-free stay of up to 360 days per year. That's almost a full year. No other country in the region offers such a generous allowance.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Georgia, not from your departure date. If your passport expires in, say, 5 months, you'll be turned away at the border.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Georgian border
At Tbilisi International Airport (or any land border crossing), join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Have your passport and return ticket ready. The officer will scan your passport, take a photo, and stamp you in. The whole process takes 2–5 minutes.
2
Receive entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the date of entry and the maximum stay (360 days). Check the stamp before leaving the counter — if the date is wrong, ask for a correction immediately.
3
Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, collect your bags from the carousel and walk through the green 'Nothing to Declare' channel if you have no goods to declare. Customs is usually quick.
