Your Bulgarian passport needs to be valid only for the length of your stay in Macau. Airlines may enforce a 6-month validity rule — check with your carrier before departure.Required

Proof of departure from Macau
Immigration officers at Macau International Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your outbound booking ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or a letter from your host. Officers rarely ask for it, but having it avoids delays if they do.Recommended

Sufficient money for your stay
Have access to enough cash or a credit card to cover your expenses. Macau does not publish a fixed minimum, but 500 MOP per day is a safe benchmark.Recommended

No visa, no application needed
Bulgarian passport holders get 90 days visa-free. No need to apply online or at an embassy. Just show up with a valid passport and a return ticket.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Macau International Airport or ferry terminal
You'll enter through immigration at Macau International Airport (MFM) or one of the ferry terminals (Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal or Taipa Ferry Terminal). Have your passport and boarding pass ready.
2
Queue at immigration counter
Join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. The officer will check your passport, ask your purpose of visit (tourism/business), and may request your return ticket or hotel booking.
3
Receive entry stamp
The officer stamps your passport with the date of entry and the allowed stay (90 days). Keep the stamp visible — you'll need it when you leave.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, collect your bags from the carousel and walk through customs. There's no arrival declaration form to fill out.
