Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport must be valid for the entire period you plan to stay in Kuwait. Kuwait does not require 6 months of remaining validity for Bahraini nationals, but your airline may check for at least 3 months. Carry a photocopy of the bio page separately.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Kuwait
Immigration officers at Kuwait International Airport routinely ask for a confirmed onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to your next destination ready. Airlines also check this before boarding.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host in Kuwait ready. Immigration may ask where you are staying, especially if you arrive without a local sponsor. A printed booking confirmation works fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Carry cash (KWD or USD) or a credit card statement showing available funds. Immigration rarely asks Bahraini nationals for proof of funds, but having 500 KWD equivalent on hand covers any questions.Recommended
GCC lane at immigration
As a Bahraini passport holder, you can use the dedicated GCC nationals lane at Kuwait International Airport. This usually means shorter queues and faster processing.
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Kuwait requires your passport to be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date. If it's close to expiring, renew it before you book your flight.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Kuwait International Airport (KWI)
After landing, follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then 'Passport Control'. There are separate queues for GCC nationals and other nationalities — Bahraini passport holders use the GCC lane.
2
Present your passport at the immigration counter
Hand over your passport. The officer will check your validity and may ask for your return ticket and accommodation details. Answer clearly and briefly.
3
Receive your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with a 90-day visit permit. No fee is charged. Keep the stamp visible — you'll need it when you leave.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There's usually nothing to declare for personal items. Exit through the green channel unless you have goods to declare.
