Greece entry requirements for Switzerland passport holders
Swiss passport holders can travel to Greece visa-free for stays up to 90 days within any 180-day period. This has been the case since Greece joined the Schengen Area, and it remains unchanged in 2026. You'll just need a valid passport and proof of onward travel.
Entry requirements
| Requirement | Details | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Valid passport Must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your departure date from the Schengen area | Your Swiss passport needs to be valid for at least 3 months after you plan to leave Greece (and the entire Schengen zone). Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding. | Required |
| Return or onward ticket Proof of departure from the Schengen area | Immigration officers at Greek airports routinely ask for a return or onward ticket showing you will leave the Schengen zone within 90 days. Budget airlines flying into Athens or Crete are especially strict about this at check-in. | Required |
| Proof of accommodation Hotel booking or host invitation letter | Have a printed or digital copy of your hotel reservation, Airbnb confirmation, or a letter from your host. Officers at Athens International Airport ask for this about half the time — do not rely on showing a phone screen with no signal. | Recommended |
| Proof of funds Bank statement, cash, or credit card | Carry a recent bank statement or enough cash/cards to cover at least €50 per day of your stay. Greek border officers rarely ask Swiss travellers for this, but having a printed statement avoids delays if they do. | Recommended |
