Swiss passport holders can enter Uzbekistan without a visa for stays up to 30 days. This visa-free policy has been in place since 2020 and applies to tourism, business, and transit. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date.
Your Swiss passport needs to be valid for the entire time you're in Uzbekistan. No minimum validity beyond your departure date is required by Uzbek law, but airlines may check for at least 3 months validity.
Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Uzbekistan
Immigration officers at Tashkent International Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your outbound flight ready — they check this before stamping you in.
Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Border officials may ask where you're staying. Have a hotel confirmation or a letter from a host ready. If you're staying with friends, a simple invitation letter with their address and phone number works.
Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Carry at least $100 USD per day of your stay in cash or have a bank statement ready. Immigration rarely asks, but if they do, they want to see you have enough for your trip.
Recommended
Passport validity counts from arrival day
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date you land in Uzbekistan, not from your departure date. Double-check before you fly.
No visa extension available
The 30-day visa-free stay cannot be extended. If you overstay, you'll face fines and potential entry bans. Plan your exit accordingly.
What happens at the border
1
Arrival at the airport
When you land at Tashkent International Airport (or any other international airport in Uzbekistan), follow the 'Foreign Passports' signs. Join the queue for visa-free entry. Have your passport and boarding pass ready.
2
Present your documents
Hand over your passport. The officer will check your passport validity, may ask for your return ticket and accommodation. Answer clearly. They'll stamp your passport with a 30-day entry stamp.
3
Collect your luggage and exit
After the stamp, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. No arrival declaration form is needed. You're free to enter Uzbekistan.
Enter your arrival date and we'll tell you exactly when you need to leave.
