Chinese passport holders need a visa to enter Poland in 2026. Apply for a Schengen visa at the Polish embassy or consulate in China before you travel. Processing can take several weeks, so plan ahead.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Schengen visa application
Apply at the Polish consulate in your country of residence
You need a Schengen visa before traveling to Poland. Apply at the Polish embassy or consulate in your home country — processing takes at least 15 calendar days. Submit your application no more than 6 months before your trip.Apply for Schengen visaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen area
Your passport needs at least 3 months of validity after the date you leave the Schengen zone. It must have been issued within the last 10 years and have at least two blank pages for entry stamps.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Border officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket when you enter the Schengen zone. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready — airlines also check this before boarding.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Immigration may ask where you're staying for your entire trip. Have hotel confirmations or a letter of invitation from your host ready. A simple booking printout or email works.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
You may need to show you have at least €100 per day of your stay, or a total of €500 for shorter trips. A recent bank statement or a credit card with sufficient limit usually satisfies the officer.Recommended
Visa required — apply well in advance
Chinese passport holders cannot enter Poland without a visa. The Schengen visa process takes 2–6 weeks, so start your application at least 2 months before your planned departure. No visa = no boarding.
Schengen area rules apply
Poland is part of the Schengen zone. Your visa allows stays up to 90 days within any 180-day period across all Schengen countries. Keep track of your days — overstaying has serious consequences.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for a Schengen visa at the Polish consulate
Go to the Polish embassy or consulate in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, or Chengdu. Submit your application, passport, photos, insurance, flight and hotel bookings, and bank statements. You'll give fingerprints and pay the fee (€80 for adults, €40 for children 6–12). Processing takes 15 calendar days on average, but can take up to 45 days during peak season.
2
Wait for visa approval
The consulate processes your application and may call you for an interview. Once approved, you get a visa sticker in your passport. Check the validity dates and number of entries (single, double, or multiple).
3
Arrive at a Polish airport or land border
When you land at Warsaw Chopin Airport or another entry point, go to the 'All Passports' queue. Hand over your passport with the visa sticker. The officer may ask for your return ticket and accommodation. Answer clearly. They'll stamp your passport with the entry date, setting your allowed stay (up to 90 days in any 180-day period).
