Electronic Travel Authorisation
Apply for your ETA-IL at israel-entry.piba.gov.il before you fly. The form takes 2 minutes and approval is instant for most applicants. Since August 2024, all visa-exempt nationals must have an approved ETA-IL before boarding.Apply for ETA-ILRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for duration of stay
Your passport needs to be valid for the entire time you're in Israel. Airlines may enforce a 6-month validity rule — check with your carrier before departure.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers at Ben Gurion Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight itinerary ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a copy of your hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host. Officers rarely ask, but having it ready avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient means of support
Have bank statements or a credit card showing you can cover your stay. There's no fixed minimum, but around 1,500 ILS per week is a safe benchmark.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you enter Israel. Airlines check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding. No exceptions.
Keep your entry card safe
At passport control, you'll receive a small entry card (not a stamp in some cases). Do not lose it — you'll need to hand it back when leaving Israel. Losing it can cause delays at departure.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport (TLV)
Most Colombian travelers fly into Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport. After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control' — there are separate lines for foreigners and Israeli citizens. Join the foreign passport line.
2
Present your passport and answer questions
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask about your purpose of visit, where you're staying, and when you're leaving. Have your return ticket and accommodation details ready. Answer clearly and honestly.
3
Receive entry stamp
If approved, you'll get an entry stamp (or a small entry card) valid for up to 90 days. Keep the card with your passport — you'll need it when leaving. Do not lose it.
4
Exit through customs
After passport control, collect your luggage and proceed through customs. Green channel for nothing to declare, red channel if you have goods over the duty-free limit (about $200 worth).
