Czech passport holders need an eVisa to visit Myanmar. The eVisa covers tourism or business trips and allows a single entry. Apply online before you travel — it's straightforward and usually takes a few days.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Myanmar eVisa at the official eVisa portal at least 3 business days before departure. The eVisa costs $50 USD and is valid for 90 days from issue, allowing a single entry for up to 28 days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport — immigration at Yangon, Mandalay, and Naypyidaw airports will stamp you in.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must have 6 months validity beyond arrival
Your Czech passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry into Myanmar. Airlines at Prague and connecting hubs check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at Yangon and Mandalay airports routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to your next destination ready — they will deny entry if you cannot show one.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
Hotel booking confirmations or a letter of invitation from a Myanmar host can speed up immigration. Officers rarely ask, but having a printed hotel address and phone number avoids delays at the counter.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to carry
Carry at least $300 USD in cash or a credit card statement showing available funds. Immigration does not routinely check, but budget airlines flying into Myanmar may ask for proof of sufficient money for your stay.Recommended
eVisa is single entry only
The Myanmar eVisa allows one entry. If you leave the country (e.g., for a day trip to Thailand), you'll need to apply for a new eVisa to re-enter.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your eVisa PDF, passport photo, and booking confirmations on your phone and in cloud storage. If you lose a printed copy, you can still show them at immigration.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for eVisa online
Go to the official Myanmar eVisa website (evisa.moip.gov.mm). Fill in your personal details, passport info, and travel dates. Upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport data page. Pay the fee (around $50 USD) by credit card. Processing takes 3–5 working days — apply at least a week before your trip.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
You'll get an email with your eVisa approval as a PDF. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and on arrival in Myanmar.
3
Arrive at Yangon or Mandalay airport
Most international flights land at Yangon International Airport (RGN) or Mandalay International Airport (MDL). Follow signs to 'Visa on Arrival' or 'Immigration'. Present your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. The officer will stamp you in — usually takes 5–10 minutes.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, collect your bags from the carousel. There's a customs declaration if you're carrying large amounts of cash or restricted items. Otherwise, just walk through the green channel.
