Algerian passport holders must get an eVisa to enter Armenia. You apply entirely online before traveling, and approval usually takes a few days. As of 2026, this is the only way to get a visa for tourism or short visits.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for an Armenian eVisa at evisa.mfa.am. Processing takes 2–3 business days. Print the approval email and carry it with your passport — border control checks it before stamping you in.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for entire stay
Your Algerian passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in Armenia. No minimum validity beyond departure is required by Armenian law, but airlines may enforce 6 months — check with your carrier.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Armenian border officers routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to your next destination ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Immigration may ask where you're staying. A hotel confirmation or a letter from your host with their address and contact number is enough.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can cover your stay
Officers can request evidence of sufficient funds. Carry a bank statement or a credit card with a reasonable limit — around $50 per day is a safe benchmark.Recommended
eVisa is the only option
Algerian passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival in Armenia. You must apply and receive approval before you travel. No exceptions.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Armenia, not from when you apply. If it expires sooner, renew it first.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to https://evisa.mfa.am, create an account, fill in your details, upload a passport-style photo, and pay the fee (around $40-50 USD). Processing takes 2-5 business days. You'll receive the visa as a PDF by email.
2
Print or save the eVisa
Print a paper copy and also save the PDF on your phone. Immigration at Yerevan's Zvartnots Airport will ask to see it when you arrive.
3
Prepare your documents for arrival
Have your passport, eVisa printout, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation ready. At passport control, hand over your passport and eVisa. The officer may ask a few questions about your trip.
4
Get your passport stamped
Once approved, you'll receive an entry stamp. Check the stamp says the correct date. Keep the eVisa with your passport for the duration of your stay.
