What happens at the border

1
Apply for a Schengen visa at the Greek consulate
Submit your application at the Greek embassy or consulate in Egypt (or your country of residence). Book an appointment, fill out the application form, provide biometrics (fingerprints and photo), and pay the €80 fee. Processing takes at least 15 calendar days, so apply well in advance.
2
Prepare your documents for the visa interview
Bring your passport, completed application form, passport-sized photos, travel insurance, flight itinerary, hotel bookings, bank statements, and proof of employment or leave. The consulate may also ask for a cover letter explaining your travel plans.
3
Arrive at a Greek airport and go through immigration
When you land at Athens (ATH), Thessaloniki (SKG), or Heraklion (HER), follow signs to 'All Passports' or 'Non-EU' queues. Have your passport, visa, return ticket, and accommodation proof ready. The officer may ask about your plans and funds. Answer clearly and briefly.
4
Receive your entry stamp and check the validity
The officer will stamp your passport with the number of days allowed (usually up to 90). Check the stamp before leaving the counter. If the dates are wrong, ask for correction immediately.
