Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Visa application
Apply for a visa before travel
Egyptian passport holders need a visa to enter the Philippines. Apply at the Philippine embassy or consulate in Cairo or through the eVisa portal if eligible. Processing takes 3–5 working days for a tourist visa, and you'll need a valid passport, flight itinerary, and bank statement.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay
Your passport must have at least 6 months of validity remaining from your date of entry into the Philippines. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at Ninoy Aquino International Airport routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. If you don't have one, you may be refused entry and sent back on the next flight. A flight booking confirmation or e-ticket works.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Have a hotel reservation or a letter from your host in the Philippines ready. Immigration may ask for it, especially if you're staying more than a week. A printed booking confirmation from Agoda or Booking.com is fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support your stay
Carry a bank statement or credit card showing at least PHP 50,000 (around $900 USD) or the equivalent. Immigration officers sometimes ask for proof of financial capacity, especially for first-time visitors or longer stays.Recommended
No visa on arrival for Egyptian passport holders
Do not book a flight without first getting your e-Visa approved. You will be denied boarding by the airline and refused entry at the airport. Apply at evisa.gov.ph at least 2 weeks before travel.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in the Philippines, not from when you leave. If your passport expires in 5 months, you'll be denied entry.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the e-Visa online
Go to evisa.gov.ph, create an account, fill in the application form, upload a scanned copy of your passport bio page and a recent passport-sized photo. Pay the visa fee (around $30-50 depending on processing time). Wait for approval — typically 3-7 business days.
2
Book your flights and accommodation
Once your visa is approved, book a round-trip flight and your first night's accommodation. Keep all confirmations as PDFs or screenshots on your phone.
3
Arrive at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila
At immigration, present your passport, printed or digital visa approval, return ticket, and hotel booking. The officer may ask about your itinerary and funds. Answer clearly and confidently. You'll get a stamp allowing up to 30 days (or whatever your visa states).
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After clearing immigration, pick up your bags from the carousel, then proceed through customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green lane. If you have items over the duty-free limit, use the red lane.
