Visa on arrival
Visa on arrival
Egyptian passport holders can get a 30-day visa on arrival at major Indonesian airports (Soekarno-Hatta, Ngurah Rai, Juanda) and seaports. Pay $35 USD in cash at the visa-on-arrival counter before immigration. The visa is single-entry and non-extendable.Apply onlineRequired
Valid passport
Valid passport
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date in Indonesia. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Return or onward ticket
Immigration officers routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to your next destination. Without it, you may be refused entry or forced to buy a ticket at the airport.Required
Proof of accommodation
Proof of accommodation
Have your hotel booking confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host ready. Immigration may ask for it, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Proof of funds
Carry at least $1,000 USD in cash or have a bank statement showing sufficient funds. Immigration rarely checks this for short stays, but it can be requested.Recommended
Cash only for VoA
The Visa on Arrival fee must be paid in cash — 500,000 IDR. No credit cards, no mobile payments. Bring exact change if possible. ATMs are available after immigration, but you need the cash before you get there.
VoA is not extendable
If you think you might need more than 30 days, apply for a B211A social visa before you travel. It allows up to 60 days and can be extended twice.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at the airport
After landing at any major Indonesian airport (Jakarta, Bali, Surabaya, etc.), follow signs to the Visa on Arrival counter before immigration. Do not go straight to the immigration queue.
2
Pay the visa fee
At the VoA counter, hand over your passport and 500,000 IDR cash. The officer will issue a receipt and a visa sticker. Keep the receipt.
3
Proceed to immigration
Go to the immigration queue with your passport (now with the visa sticker), boarding pass, and onward ticket. The officer may ask for your hotel address or return flight details.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, collect your bags from the carousel, then go through customs. You're now in Indonesia for up to 30 days.
