Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for your entire stay in Norway
Your Spanish passport needs to be valid for the full duration of your trip to Norway. Norway is part of the Schengen zone, so your 90-day visa-free allowance applies across all 29 Schengen countries — not just Norway. Carry your passport with you at all times within Norway.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from the Schengen area
Immigration officers at Oslo Gardermoen and other Norwegian airports routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a return flight ticket or a ticket to a non-Schengen destination ready. A printed or digital copy on your phone works fine.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed or digital copy of your hotel reservation, hostel booking, or a letter of invitation from your host in Norway. Immigration rarely asks for it, but having it ready avoids delays at the counter.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Have a bank statement, credit card, or cash showing you have at least 500 NOK per day of your stay. Border officers rarely check this for Spanish passport holders, but they can ask. A recent bank statement on your phone is sufficient.Recommended
Schengen area rules apply
Norway is part of the Schengen Area. Your 90-day visa-free limit is shared across all Schengen countries. If you've already spent 30 days in France, you only have 60 days left for Norway and other Schengen countries combined.
No arrival declaration needed
Spanish passport holders do not need to fill out any arrival declaration form when entering Norway. Just present your passport at border control.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Norwegian border control
At Oslo Gardermoen or any other airport, join the 'All passports' queue. Have your passport, boarding pass, and any supporting documents ready. The officer will check your passport and may ask your purpose of visit and length of stay.
2
Present your documents
Hand over your passport. If asked, state your purpose (tourism, business, etc.) and show your return ticket and accommodation confirmation if requested. The officer will stamp your passport with the entry date.
3
Collect your luggage and exit
After the stamp, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There are no additional forms or fees for Spanish passport holders. You're free to enter Norway.
