Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Finland, not from your departure date. If it expires sooner, renew before you travel.

Arrive at Helsinki-Vantaa or other border
You'll join the 'All passports' queue at Helsinki Airport. Have your passport and return ticket ready. The officer will stamp your passport with the entry date. Expect a quick conversation about the purpose of your visit.

Show your documents
Hand over your passport. If asked, show your return ticket (on phone is fine) and accommodation booking. Answer honestly about your plans — tourism, business meetings, or visiting family.

Receive entry stamp
The officer stamps your passport with the date of entry. That stamp starts your 90-day clock. Keep the stamp visible — you'll need it when you leave.

Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, head to baggage claim, then customs. Green channel for most tourists. You're free to enter Finland.
