Ghanaian passport holders need an eVisa to enter Tajikistan in 2026. The process is entirely online — no embassy visit required. Apply at least a few business days before your trip.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply for Tajikistan eVisa
Apply online at the official Tajikistan eVisa portal before departure. The eVisa costs around $50 USD and processing takes 2-3 business days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport — immigration at Dushanbe Airport will stamp the visa into your passport on arrival.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Passport validity
Your Ghanaian passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Tajikistan. Tajikistan strictly enforces this rule — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding by the airline.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Immigration at Dushanbe Airport routinely asks for a confirmed return or onward ticket before granting entry. Have a printed copy or a digital version on your phone ready to show.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a hotel reservation confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host in Tajikistan. Immigration officers may ask for this during the entry interview.Recommended
Proof of funds
Financial means
Have evidence of sufficient funds for your stay — a bank statement or credit card showing at least $50 USD per day. Officers rarely ask, but it's safer to have it ready.Recommended
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Tajikistan, not from your departure date. If it expires sooner, renew it before applying for the eVisa.
Registration after 10 days
If you plan to stay longer than 10 days, you must register with OVIR within 3 business days of arrival. Hotels usually handle this — just confirm at check-in.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to evisa.tj and fill out the application form. You'll need your passport details, travel dates, and a digital photo. Pay the fee with a credit or debit card. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days.
2
Receive and save your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get a PDF by email. Save it to your phone and print a backup copy. The eVisa is linked to your passport number — no need to carry the original document.
3
Arrive at Dushanbe International Airport
At passport control, hand over your passport and show your eVisa (on phone or paper). The officer will stamp you in. The whole process usually takes 5–10 minutes.
4
Register with OVIR (if staying more than 10 days)
If your stay exceeds 10 days, you must register with the local migration office (OVIR) within 3 business days of arrival. Your hotel can usually do this for you. If you're staying with friends, you'll need to go to the nearest OVIR office yourself.
