Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay in Singapore
Your Hungarian passport needs at least 6 months validity beyond your departure date from Singapore. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Singapore
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. A flight booking to any destination outside Singapore works — just show it at the counter.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host ready. Officers rarely ask for it, but if they do, you need a printed or digital copy with your name and dates.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Carry at least 1,000 SGD in cash or have a bank statement showing available funds. Immigration may ask how you will pay for your stay — a credit card statement works too.Recommended
Overstaying is not a minor fine
Singapore takes overstays very seriously. You'll be fined SGD 1,000 per day, and you may be banned from re-entering for up to 2 years. Set a calendar reminder to leave before day 90.
No arrival card needed
Singapore scrapped the paper arrival card and the SG Arrival Card e-service for most visitors. You just walk up to immigration with your passport. No forms, no QR codes.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare documents before departure
Check your passport validity (6+ months from entry date). Book your return or onward ticket and first night's accommodation. Download or print confirmations. Get travel insurance and an eSIM if you want.
2
At the airport in Hungary
The airline check-in agent will verify your passport and onward ticket. They may also ask about accommodation. Have everything ready on your phone or printed.
3
Arrival at Singapore Changi Airport
Follow signs to 'Foreign Passports' immigration. Join the queue for non-residents. Have your passport and boarding pass ready. The officer will scan your passport, take a fingerprint (usually thumb), and stamp you in. The whole process takes 2-5 minutes if the queue is short.
4
After immigration
Collect your luggage, then proceed through customs (green channel if nothing to declare). Exit into the arrival hall. Your 90-day stay starts from the date of entry.
