Indonesian passport holders can enter Uzbekistan without a visa for stays up to 30 days. This policy has been in place since 2023 and covers tourism, business, and transit. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid for at least the full 30 days you plan to stay in Uzbekistan. Airlines at Jakarta and Bali check this before boarding. No 6-month validity rule applies here.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Uzbekistan
Immigration officers at Tashkent International Airport ask for a confirmed onward ticket. A flight out to any destination within 30 days works. Budget airlines like AirAsia and Uzbekistan Airways check this at check-in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have a printed or digital hotel confirmation for at least the first few nights. If staying with friends, a simple invitation letter with their address and phone number works. Officers rarely ask but it smooths things out.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Carry at least $500 USD in cash or have a credit card with available balance. ATMs at Tashkent airport work for Visa and Mastercard. Immigration doesn't always check, but budget airlines sometimes do at check-in.Recommended
30-day stay is strict
The visa-free stay is exactly 30 days from the date of entry. It cannot be extended. Plan your departure carefully — overstaying even by a day can result in a fine of around 200,000 UZS (about $18 USD) and a note in your record.
No visa needed for transit
If you're just transiting through Uzbekistan (e.g., connecting flights at Tashkent Airport), you don't need a visa as long as you stay airside. For land transit, the visa-free policy covers you for up to 30 days.

What happens at the border

1
Arrival at Tashkent International Airport
After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control'. Join the queue for foreign nationals. Have your passport and boarding pass ready. The officer will check your passport validity, may ask for your return ticket and hotel booking. They'll stamp your passport with a 30-day entry stamp. The whole process usually takes 5-15 minutes.
2
Arrival at other land borders or airports
Same process as Tashkent. At land borders (e.g., from Kazakhstan or Kyrgyzstan), you'll fill out a simple arrival card. Keep the departure portion safe — you'll hand it back when leaving.
3
Departure from Uzbekistan
At the airport, go to 'Passport Control' for departing passengers. Hand over your passport and the departure card (if you received one). The officer will stamp you out. No exit fee.
