Israeli passport holders can enter Brazil without a visa for tourism or business stays up to 90 days. This policy remains in effect for 2026. Ensure your passport meets validity requirements and carry a return ticket.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your departure date from Brazil
Your passport needs at least one blank page for the entry stamp. Airlines check this before boarding — if your passport expires within 6 months, you may be denied boarding even though Brazil technically only requires validity for your stay. Renew early to avoid problems.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Brazil
Immigration officers at São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro airports routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. A bus ticket to a neighboring country works too. If you're flying out, have the itinerary ready — they check this before stamping you in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Not always asked, but having a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host speeds things up. If you're staying with friends, a simple invitation with their address and phone number is enough.Recommended
Proof of funds
Bank statement or credit card
Immigration can ask for evidence you can support yourself during your stay. A recent bank statement showing a few thousand reais equivalent, or a credit card with a decent limit, usually satisfies them. I've never been asked, but I always carry a printout.Recommended
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Brazil, not from your departure date. If you're traveling close to your passport's expiry, double-check the math.
No extension available
The 90-day visa-free stay cannot be extended. If you need more time, you must leave Brazil and re-enter after a period. Overstaying can lead to fines and entry bans.

What happens at the border

1
Arrival at Brazilian immigration
When you land at any Brazilian airport (e.g., Guarulhos in São Paulo or Galeão in Rio), follow signs to 'Passport Control' or 'Foreigners'. Join the queue for non-Mercosur passports. Have your passport and boarding pass ready.
2
Present your documents
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask for your return ticket and proof of accommodation. Answer questions clearly (purpose of visit, length of stay). They will stamp your passport with the entry date and allowed stay (usually 90 days).
3
Collect your luggage and exit
After the stamp, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There is no arrival declaration form to fill out for Israeli passport holders. You're free to enter.
