What happens at the border

1
Complete Check-Mig Online
Up to 72 hours before your flight, go to migracioncolombia.gov.co and fill out the Check-Mig form. You'll need your flight details, passport info, and first accommodation address. Save the confirmation PDF or screenshot.
2
Arrive at Immigration Counter
At Bogotá El Dorado or any other Colombian airport, follow signs to 'Migración' or 'Extranjería'. Join the queue for 'Pasaportes Extranjeros' (foreign passports). Have your passport and Check-Mig confirmation ready.
3
Present Documents and Get Stamped
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask your purpose of visit, how long you're staying, and where you're staying. Answer clearly. They'll stamp your passport with up to 90 days. Keep the stamped entry slip — you'll need it when leaving.
4
Collect Luggage and Exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There's usually a green channel (nothing to declare) and a red channel (goods to declare). If you have nothing to declare, walk through the green channel.
