What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents
Gather all required documents: passport, photos, bank statements, flight and hotel bookings, insurance, and the completed application form. Make copies of everything.
2
Book an appointment at the Hungarian Embassy in Amman
Contact the Embassy of Hungary in Amman to schedule a visa appointment. Walk-ins are not accepted. Appointments can be booked by phone or email — check their website for current procedures.
3
Attend the appointment and submit your application

4

Standard processing takes 15 calendar days, but can extend to 45 days in busy periods or if additional documents are requested. Do not book non-refundable travel until you have the visa.
5
Collect your passport
Once notified, collect your passport from the embassy. Check the visa sticker carefully — make sure dates, name, and number of entries are correct.
6
Travel and enter Hungary
At Budapest Airport or any Schengen border, present your passport with the visa. Have your return ticket and accommodation proof ready. Border officers may ask about your plans — answer clearly.
