Prepare your documents
Gather all the requirements listed above. Make photocopies of everything — the embassy will keep copies and return your originals. Organise them in the order listed on the application form.

Attend your appointment
Arrive 15 minutes early at the Hungarian Embassy in Nairobi (address: 3rd Floor, ABC Place, Waiyaki Way). Submit your documents, pay the visa fee (€80 for adults, €40 for children 6–12, free for under-6s), and give biometrics (fingerprints and photo).

Wait for processing
Standard processing takes 15 calendar days. It can take up to 45 days if additional checks are needed. You'll get a call or email when your passport is ready for collection.

Collect your passport
Return to the embassy with your receipt to pick up your passport. If approved, check the visa sticker carefully — make sure your name, dates, and number of entries are correct.

Travel to Hungary
At Budapest Airport (or any Schengen entry point), present your passport with the visa sticker. The border officer may ask for your return ticket, accommodation, and insurance. Answer confidently — they're checking you're a genuine visitor.
