Visa on arrival also available
Apply online at evisa.gov.kh for $30 USD, or get a visa on arrival at Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, or Sihanoukville airports for the same price. Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months
Your passport needs at least 6 months of validity beyond your arrival date in Cambodia. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for visa on arrival
Immigration officers routinely ask for proof of onward travel when issuing a visa on arrival. Have a printed or digital copy of your outbound flight booking ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host in Cambodia. Immigration rarely asks for it, but having it ready avoids delays at the visa-on-arrival counter.Recommended
Proof of funds
Cash or bank statement
Bring at least $300 USD in cash or a recent bank statement showing sufficient funds. Immigration officers may ask to see it during the visa-on-arrival process, especially if you have no onward ticket.Recommended
Cash only — no cards accepted
The visa-on-arrival counter only takes US dollars cash. ATMs are available after immigration, but you'll need cash before that. Bring $30–$35 in small bills.
Photo booth available at major airports
If you forget your passport photo, both Phnom Penh and Siem Reap airports have automated photo booths near the visa counter. They cost about $2–$3.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at the airport
You'll land at Phnom Penh (PNH), Siem Reap (REP), or Sihanoukville (KOS). Follow signs to 'Visa on Arrival' before the immigration counters.
2
Fill out the application form
Grab a form from the counter. It asks for basic info: name, passport number, flight details, hotel address. Fill it in with a black pen.
3
Submit documents and pay
Hand over your passport, the completed form, one photo, and $30 (tourist) or $35 (business). The officer will process it — usually takes 5–10 minutes.
4
Collect your passport with visa
They'll call your name or hand it back. Check the visa sticker: your name, passport number, and validity dates should be correct. Then proceed to immigration.
5
Go through immigration
Show your passport with the new visa and your boarding pass. The officer may ask about your stay — have your hotel address and return ticket ready.
