RequirementDetailsStatus
Visa on arrival
Visa on arrival
Cambodian passport holders can get a visa on arrival at Macau International Airport. The fee is 100 MOP (about $12 USD) and you pay in cash at the immigration counter. Have a printed return ticket and hotel booking ready — the officer may ask to see them before issuing the visa.Check visa detailsRequired
Valid passport
Valid passport
Your passport must be valid for at least 90 days beyond your intended departure date from Macau. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Return or onward ticket
Immigration officers routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to your next destination ready. A one-way ticket without onward proof can get you refused entry.Required
Proof of accommodation
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking confirmation or an invitation letter from a Macau resident. Immigration may ask for this during the visa-on-arrival process. A simple booking confirmation email works.Recommended
Proof of funds
Proof of funds
Carry at least 5,000 MOP (about $620 USD) in cash or have a bank statement showing sufficient funds. Immigration rarely checks this for short stays, but it helps if asked.Recommended
Cash only for visa fee
The visa-on-arrival fee must be paid in cash. No credit cards, no mobile payments. Bring MOP or HKD in small denominations. ATMs are available after immigration, but you'll need cash before that.
Visa on arrival is single entry only
If you leave Macau (even for a day trip to Hong Kong or mainland China), you'll need a new visa on arrival when you re-enter. Plan your itinerary accordingly.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Macau border checkpoint
You'll land at Macau International Airport (MFM) or cross via the Zhuhai border (Gongbei checkpoint) or ferry terminals. Follow signs to 'Immigration' or 'Visa on Arrival'.
2
Fill out the arrival card
You'll receive a small white arrival/departure card on the plane or at the counter. Fill it out in block capitals — name, passport number, flight number, hotel address.
3
Queue at the visa-on-arrival counter
Look for the 'Visa on Arrival' or 'Non-Resident' counter. Hand over your passport, completed arrival card, and the visa fee (cash only — MOP or HKD accepted).
4
Pay the fee and get your visa
The visa fee is MOP 100 (about USD 12.50) for a single entry. Pay in cash. The officer will stamp the visa into your passport. Processing takes 5–10 minutes.
5
Proceed to immigration clearance
After getting the visa, go to the immigration officer's booth. They'll check your passport, visa, and may ask about your stay. Answer honestly. Then you're through.
