Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport must be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Armenia. No minimum validity beyond your departure date is required by Armenian law, but some airlines may enforce a 6-month rule — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Armenia
Border officers may ask for a return or onward ticket showing you leave Armenia within the 180-day visa-free period. Have a printed or digital copy ready — budget airlines often check this at check-in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Immigration may request proof of where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary. A hotel confirmation or an invitation letter from a host works — keep a copy on your phone.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Officers can ask for evidence of sufficient funds — roughly $50–$100 per day of your stay. A recent bank statement or credit card with a decent limit usually satisfies them.Recommended
Visa-free for 180 days
South Korean passport holders can stay up to 180 days per year without a visa. This is generous — but remember, it's not extendable, so plan your exit.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Armenia. If it expires sooner, renew before you go.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Zvartnots International Airport (EVN)
Most travellers fly into Yerevan's main airport. After deplaning, follow signs to 'Passport Control' — it's a single queue for all nationalities. Have your passport and boarding pass ready.
2
Present your passport at immigration
Hand over your passport. The officer will check your validity (6+ months), ask your purpose of visit (say 'tourism' or 'business'), and may request your return ticket. Answer clearly and briefly. They'll stamp your passport — that's your entry permit.
3
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There's usually nothing to declare for personal items. Walk through the green channel unless you have goods to declare.
