Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for duration of stay
Your Kuwaiti passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in the UAE. Immigration officers at Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports check this carefully — if your passport expires before you leave, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from UAE
Airlines check for a return or onward ticket before letting you board in Kuwait. Immigration at UAE airports also asks for it — have a printed or digital copy of your flight itinerary ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Immigration officers rarely ask for it, but budget airlines like flydubai or Air Arabia may request a hotel booking or a letter from your host before issuing a boarding pass. Keep a copy on your phone.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient cash or card balance
UAE immigration does not enforce a specific minimum amount, but carrying around 3,000 AED in cash or showing a credit card with available credit covers you if asked. ATMs are everywhere in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.Recommended
GCC Lane at Immigration
Kuwaiti passport holders can use the dedicated GCC lane at UAE airports. Look for signs saying 'GCC Nationals' — it is usually much faster than the general queue.
Overstaying Fines
If you stay beyond 90 days, you will be fined 50 AED per day. Pay before leaving or at the airport. Overstaying can also lead to a ban from re-entering the UAE.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare Your Documents Before Departure
Check your passport validity (6+ months from entry date). Book a return/onward ticket and first night accommodation. Save digital copies on your phone.
2
Arrive at a UAE Airport
You will land at Dubai (DXB/DWC), Abu Dhabi (AUH), or Sharjah (SHJ). Follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then to 'Passport Control'.
3
Queue at Immigration
Join the queue for 'All Passports' or 'GCC Nationals' (Kuwait is a GCC member, so you can use the faster GCC lane). Have your passport and boarding pass ready.
4
Present Your Passport to the Officer
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask your purpose of visit, where you are staying, and when you are leaving. Answer clearly. They will stamp your passport with a 90-day visit visa.
5
Collect Luggage and Exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs (green channel for nothing to declare). You are free to enter the UAE.
