Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Myanmar eVisa at the official Ministry of Immigration portal. The eVisa is valid for tourism or business, single entry, up to 28 days. Processing takes 3–5 working days — do not book flights until approved.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must have 6 months validity
Your Kuwaiti passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Myanmar. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration at Yangon and Mandalay airports routinely asks for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or ticket to a third country ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a printed hotel confirmation for your entire stay, or a letter of invitation from your host in Myanmar. Immigration may ask at the counter, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Cash or bank statement
Have at least $300 USD equivalent in cash or a recent bank statement showing sufficient funds. Myanmar immigration rarely checks this for eVisa holders, but it is safer to carry cash — ATMs are unreliable outside major cities.Recommended
eVisa is mandatory — no exceptions
Kuwaiti passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival. You must apply and receive your eVisa before you fly. Airlines may deny boarding without it.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in Myanmar, not from when you leave. Renew it first if needed.
