RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to be in Armenia. Border officers at Zvartnots Airport in Yerevan check this at passport control.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Armenia
Immigration officers may ask for a return or onward ticket to confirm you will leave within the 180-day visa-free period. Have a printed or digital copy ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel reservation or an invitation letter from your host. Border control rarely asks, but having it ready avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have bank statements or cash available to demonstrate you have enough money for your stay. Officers rarely request this, but it helps if asked.Recommended
No visa needed, but be prepared
You don't need a visa, but immigration may still ask for proof of onward travel and accommodation. Keep digital copies on your phone.
180 days per year — plenty of time
You can stay up to 180 days in any 365-day period. That's enough for long-term travel, remote work, or visiting family.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Zvartnots International Airport (EVN)
Most flights from Kazakhstan land here. Follow signs to 'Passport Control' — it's a short walk from the gate.
2
Join the 'Foreign Passports' queue
There are separate lines for Armenian citizens and foreigners. Join the correct one. Wait time is usually 10–20 minutes.
3
Present your passport to the officer
Hand over your passport. The officer will check it, stamp it, and return it. No visa required. They may ask your purpose of visit and where you're staying.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After passport control, proceed to baggage claim. Then walk through the green 'Nothing to Declare' channel if you have no goods to declare.
