Valid passport
Must cover your stay
Your passport must be valid for the entire duration of your stay in Kuwait. Airlines check this at check-in, and immigration officers enforce it strictly.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration at Kuwait International Airport asks for a confirmed return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or show it on your phone.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel reservation or a letter from your host in Kuwait. Immigration occasionally asks for it, especially if you're staying with family or friends.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can cover your stay
Have bank statements or cash available to show you can support yourself. Kuwait doesn't publish a fixed amount, but 500 KWD per week is a safe benchmark.Recommended
Visa required — apply well in advance
Kuwait does not offer visa on arrival for Kazakh passport holders. You must get approval before you fly. Processing can take up to a week, so don't wait until the last minute.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your visa approval, passport photo, and return ticket as PDFs on your phone and in cloud storage. If you lose your passport, these copies make replacement much faster.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your visa online
Go to the Kuwait eVisa portal (evisa.moi.gov.kw) and submit your application. You'll need your passport details, travel dates, and accommodation info. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days, sometimes longer. Apply at least 2 weeks before your trip.
2
Wait for approval and print confirmation
Once approved, you'll receive a visa document by email. Print it out and also save a copy on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and on arrival in Kuwait.
3
Arrive at Kuwait International Airport
After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control' — since you already have a visa, go straight to the regular immigration counters. Present your passport, visa approval, and return ticket. The officer may ask where you're staying — have your hotel address ready.
4
Get your passport stamped and collect luggage
The officer will stamp your passport with your entry date. You'll usually get a 30-day stay. After that, head to baggage claim and then customs. There's nothing special to declare for most tourists.
