Kazakhstan passport holders need an eVisa to visit Myanmar in 2026. The eVisa covers tourism and business, and you must apply online before traveling. Overland border crossings are not allowed with this visa — you must arrive by air.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Myanmar eVisa at the official Ministry of Immigration portal. Processing takes 3–5 working days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport — immigration at Yangon, Mandalay, and Naypyidaw airports will stamp you in.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport needs at least 6 months of validity from your date of entry. Myanmar immigration checks this strictly at the counter — if you're under 6 months, you'll be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to your next destination ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
Hotel booking confirmations or an invitation letter from a host in Myanmar. Officers rarely ask, but having it printed avoids delays if they do.Recommended
Overland entry not allowed
The eVisa is only valid for air arrivals at Yangon, Mandalay, or Naypyidaw airports. If you plan to enter Myanmar by land from Thailand, China, or India, you need a different visa arranged in advance.
Keep your eVisa printed
Print a paper copy of your eVisa approval letter. Some airlines won't let you board without it, and immigration at Myanmar airports will ask to see it. A digital copy on your phone is a good backup, but paper is safer.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Myanmar eVisa website (evisa.moip.gov.mm). Fill in your personal details, passport info, and travel dates. Upload a digital passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee with a credit or debit card. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
Check your email (including spam folder) for the eVisa approval letter. Print a paper copy — you'll need to show it at check-in and at immigration in Myanmar. Save a digital copy on your phone as backup.
3
Arrive at Yangon, Mandalay, or Naypyidaw airport
You must enter Myanmar through one of these three international airports. Overland entry is not allowed with an eVisa. At immigration, present your passport, printed eVisa, and completed arrival card. The officer will stamp you in.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There's no separate visa-on-arrival queue for eVisa holders — you go straight to the immigration counters.
